I have a deep desire to become an influential woman who creates a positive impact on the lives of thousands. This vision is my driving force, and I know that achieving it requires making intentional decisions today that align with my dreams. It’s not always easy, but I’ve realized that following my intuition and staying true to my goals is far more important than following the crowd.

The Journey to Self-Discovery

As a single mother, I refuse to let my circumstances define or limit me. My baby is not an obstacle to my dreams but rather a source of inspiration to keep pushing forward. I don’t want pity from others or to be seen as someone who needs saving. Instead, I want to be a role model for my child and for others, proving that resilience and determination can overcome any challenge.

To achieve this, I’ve made a commitment to myself:

Saying No to Distractions

Recently, I received a call from an acquaintance inviting me to join a women’s group that gathers monthly for $45 contributions. The group aims to foster community among migrants in Cyprus through activities like support during life events (birthdays, health issues, family losses) and small entrepreneurial projects like soap and oil making.

While this initiative has its benefits—promoting solidarity and mutual support—I had to make a difficult decision. My financial situation simply doesn’t allow for such commitments right now. As a single mother, my priorities are clear:

  1. Paying for my daughter’s education each month.
  2. Investing in my entrepreneurial journey.
  3. Staying focused on building the future I envision for myself and my child.

Most of the women in the group are married or in relationships, with financial support from their partners—something I don’t have. While their circumstances allow them to participate in such activities, mine do not. And that’s okay because I understand the importance of knowing myself, knowing what I want in life, and knowing what I need to avoid.

The Importance of Intuition

This decision reinforced a powerful lesson: Follow your intuition above all else. While the group offers value, joining it right now would drain my time, finances, and focus—resources I need to dedicate to my studies and entrepreneurial goals.

Building myself first is not selfish; it’s necessary. By focusing on becoming financially independent and achieving my dreams, I’ll eventually be in a position where I can contribute meaningfully to such groups without compromising my priorities.

A Message for Dreamers

If you’re reading this and find yourself at a crossroads—torn between following the crowd or staying true to your path—remember this: Your journey is yours alone. Trust your intuition, prioritize your goals, and don’t be afraid to say no when something doesn’t align with your vision.

It’s not about rejecting others but about choosing yourself first so you can build a strong foundation for your future. When you know who you are and what you want in life, every decision becomes clearer.

What decisions are you facing today that could shape your tomorrow?
